These photographs remind me of a recent interview I did with our environmental specialist about Wilderness. He said:
For me, I know that I’ve walked into a wilderness area when I have a sense that I’m in an environment that is largely functioning the way it may have five or even ten thousand years ago.
Sometimes we know we’ve entered a protected Wilderness area by seeing the plants and animals that couldn’t exist anywhere else. Other times, we know we’re in Wilderness by what is absent: buildings, roads, cars, and any permanent evidence of humans life.
These photographs don’t exactly document wilderness, but it’s somehow reminiscent of a wilderness quality.

Truly awesome. Looks like post-Judgement Day if Skynet went green.
